Our local farmers supply our Timaru plant with spuds which are then processed, packaged and leave as either french fries or chips ready for cooking and consumption.
We are seeking a hard-working individual to join one of our Crews in the role of Inspection.
This requires manual visual inspection of both raw potatoes and processed french fries within our processing and packing areas.
You are one of the last lines of defence, responsible for identifying and removing foreign material and product off the line that does not meet our customer requirements.
A keen eye for detail and the ability to work at speed is necessary.
We are a 24/7 operation, so the role works a rotating shift pattern, 2 x day shifts 7am - 7pm, then 2 x night shifts 7pm - 7am, then 4 consecutive days off.
You will be working as a key member of a small team, so attendance at work is critical to ensure the plant is appropriately resourced.
This work can be repetitive and cold, so although all PPE is provided you need be be self-motivated.
You are required to be on your feet for several hours, so a reasonable level of fitness and strength is required.
To successfully carry out this role you will: Hold Food Safety and Health and Safety in the highest regard Have excellent attention to detail.
Have a passion for delivering results, be a logical thinker and have proven problem solving skills Positive team member, but content working alone Be able to work shifts, 2 days on, 2 nights on, and 4 off.
Proven experience in a food manufacturing/processing environment is advantageous.
