Here at Whanau Awhina Plunket, everything we do is to support the health and wellbeing of tamariki under-five and their whanau. To directly support this, we are searching for an Injury Prevention Coordinator to join our Gisborne team in a permanent part-time position (12 hours per week - you can choose the hours you work). This is an office-based role and a requirement will be to complete your Child Restraint Technician certification within the first 6 months of your employment (we will pay for this).
The Injury Prevention Coordinator is responsible for coordinating, supporting, and enabling the delivery of our injury prevention work.
This includes providing child restraint support (advice and installation) as well as coordination and delivery of injury prevention programmes and finding opportunities to share injury prevention messages for whanau in the community with a particular focus on our priority populations.
You'll work alongside our close-knit Clinical and Community team of 6 kaimahi. There is a fair level of fitness required as there is a requirement to lift multiple child restraints and climb into cars.
The pay rate for this role is $27.80 per hour. To thrive in this role, you will have a passion for working with whanau, be confident in engaging with local groups, and be able to effectively build relationships. You will have had prior experience working in a role where you built positive relationships and were able to understand needs before working towards a solution.

While prior Child Restraint experience would be fantastic, if you are eager to learn new practical skills and are willing to undertake Child Restraint Technician training, we will pay for your qualification.
