You'll ensure optimal system performance, security, and availability while supporting virtualisation technologies, system updates, and software deployments.You will play a crucial role enhancing classroom and AV technology, driving improvements in the teaching and learning experience both online and face-to-face settings. A key aspect of the role will be stakeholder engagement, ensuring proactive delivery on the needs of academic staff, students, and other stakeholders.Media Design School is part of Torrens Global Education. While this role is based at our Media Design School campus in Auckland, you will also work remotely across the wider Torrens Global Education network, supporting the management and enhancement of infrastructure systems that serve both academic and operational needs at Torrens University and Think Education in Australia.Day-to-day accountabilities:As an Infrastructure Systems Engineer, you'll work closely with business units and academic staff to ensure the smooth operation of IT services, focusing on infrastructure, virtualisation, and classroom technologies. In this role you will:Foster strong relationships with business units, academic staff, and students, ensuring IT services align with educational objectives and stakeholder satisfaction is high.Achieve agreed system uptime and ensure all virtualised environments, including those supporting educational technologies, are running efficiently with minimal downtime.Enhance the teaching and learning experience by ensuring all classroom technologies are fully functional and effectively utilised by staff and students.Successfully deploy new infrastructure projects on time and within budget, meeting all performance and scalability requirements, especially those related to educational technology.Resolve infrastructure-related issues within the defined response times, ensuring high user satisfaction for both staff and students, in both online and face-to-face settings.Work towards zero security breaches and ensure all systems, including those used in educational contexts, are compliant with the latest security standards and policies.Ensure 100% data recovery in case of system failures and maintain uninterrupted business operations during disasters, including educational activities.Who you are :You're an experienced Infrastructure Engineer with a minimum of 8 years' experience. You have proven experience in managing complex systems and cloud environments. You're skilled in virtualisation, software deployment, and troubleshooting, with strong communication and collaboration abilities. You thrive in adapting to evolving technologies and prioritising key tasks.Key Skills Required but are not limited to:Extensive experience with VMware, Microsoft Windows Server, AWS, and Azure environments.Proficiency in Microsoft Intune, SCCM, PowerShell, and Exchange Online.Strong experience in software packaging, deployment, and Mobile Device Management.Proven problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex infrastructure issues.Excellent communication and collaboration skills for working across teams and with stakeholders.This is a permanent full-time position based in Auckland.Please note: Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
