Te Wero – The Challenge We are seeking an InfrastructurePlanner to join the Assets & Project Delivery team. The team consists ofAsset Management and Project Delivery.
The purpose of this role is to provideresource consent management and infrastructure planning advice and serviceswithin the Assets & Project Delivery team, assessing the Forward Works Plan(FWP) for legal, building, district plan rules and compliance requirements. Toalso obtain the authorisations required to ensure planned works have approvedconsents and legal access approved prior to any works commencing.
This position reports to the TeamLeader - Assets & Project Delivery.
We're looking for someone who brings:
Minimum of 5 years previous planning experience in a similarplanning roleMinimum of 5 years previous experience in Local government orproperty related employmentAppropriate tertiary or vocational qualification highly desirableExtensive knowledge of Resource Management, Local Government Actand Parks & Reserves Act.Knowledge of FNDC District Plan would be an advantagePrevious experience with Solid Waste Management including but notlimited to closed landfill requirements, recycling, and other refuserelated tasksPractical understanding of Project Management, policy developmentprocesses, collaboration and consentingKnowledge of New Zealand design codes and practices especially FNDCEngineering StandardsYou will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain anunderstanding of Te Ao Maori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Maori. Youwill also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation ofTe Tiriti o Waitangi obligationsWell-developed documentation, reporting and writing skillsThe ability to confidently deal with sensitive and confidentialissuesGreat oral and written communication skills, be it with colleagues,clients or contractorsAbility to work closely and proactively with a wide range ofstakeholders including the public and internal staffClear, concise communication skills with the ability to translatecomplex problems into simple and easy to understand conceptsDemonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneouslywith set timeframesEnthusiasm and commitment to excellence in customer serviceHigh level of relationship development, management and customerfacilitation skills, including the ability to establish key strategicrelationships with stakeholders at the staff, executive and politicallevelA desire to get the best outcomes for our communityA progressive mindset focussed on continual improvementThe ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships.Far North District Council is aprogressive and growing Council filled with like-minded people who love whatthey do and are committed to providing superior services to residents in theircommunity.
