Te Wero - The Challenge We are seeking an Infrastructure Planner to join the Assets & Project Delivery team. The team consists of Asset Management and Project Delivery. The purpose of this role is to provide resource consent management and infrastructure planning advice and services within the Assets & Project Delivery team, assessing the Forward Works Plan (FWP) for legal, building, district plan rules and compliance requirements. To also obtain the authorisations required to ensure planned works have approved consents and legal access approved prior to any works commencing. This position reports to the Team Leader - Assets & Project Delivery. We're looking for someone who brings: Minimum of 5 years previous planning experience in a similar planning role Minimum of 5 years previous experience in Local government or property related employment Appropriate tertiary or vocational qualification highly desirable Extensive knowledge of Resource Management, Local Government Act and Parks & Reserves Act. Knowledge of FNDC District Plan would be an advantage Previous experience with Solid Waste Management including but not limited to closed landfill requirements, recycling, and other refuse related tasks Practical understanding of Project Management, policy development processes, collaboration and consenting Knowledge of New Zealand design codes and practices especially FNDC Engineering Standards You will demonstrate knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an understanding of Te Ao Maori and promote tikanga and Te Reo Maori. You will also have knowledge of, or a willingness to gain an appreciation of Te Tiriti o Waitangi obligations Well-developed documentation, reporting and writing skills The ability to confidently deal with sensitive and confidential issues Great oral and written communication skills, be it with colleagues, clients or contractors Ability to work closely and proactively with a wide range of stakeholders including the public and internal staff Clear, concise communication skills with the ability to translate complex problems into simple and easy to understand concepts Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with set timeframes Enthusiasm and commitment to excellence in customer service High level of relationship development, management and customer facilitation skills, including the ability to establish key strategic relationships with stakeholders at the staff, executive and political level A desire to get the best outcomes for our community A progressive mindset focussed on continual improvement The ability to build and maintain strong stakeholder relationships. The salary for this position is Grade 15 within Council's salary structure (Band: $75,115 - $88,371 per annum) dependent on qualifications and experience, plus Kiwi Saver.
