Location: Dargaville, NorthlandType: Full time/PermanentPay range: $29.66 - $35Days: 7am to 5pm, Monday to FridayHours: Guaranteed 30 hours per weekThe Company:Our client's aim is to provide safe, high-quality learning and outdoor environments through the flexible design and delivery of innovative shade systems. They need a Sewing Machinist to join their busy team.Key Responsibilities:Operating and maintaining an industrial sewing machineSewing, assembling and finishing fabricCutting fabric with a hot knife and scissorsOperating different types of PVC welding machinesMeasure and cut aluminium sparsPick hardware partsKeep your area and machine clean and tidyInvolves heavy liftingQuality control, record materials used and batch numbersReport to management on workload, productivity and improvementsGeneral Activities including: Continuous improvement, taking part in LEAN exercises, cleaningSupport the team wherever neededHealth and Safety:Accept personal and shared responsibility to ensure that health and safety objectives are achieved.Report all incidents that caused harm and all incidents that could have caused harm.Maintain a commitment to continuous improvement in health and safety.Maintain an updated understanding of health and safety matters and management practices.Participate in new employee health and safety induction as required.Ensure compliance with company policies regarding environmental, health, safety and risk management.Commit to comply with relevant legislation, regulations, codes of practice and safe operating procedures.To be successful in this role, you will have:At least 3 years' relevant work experienceAttend meetings as requiredParticipate in the development and implementation of Continuous Improvement activities consistent with and in support of the Strategic and Business Operating Plan.Undertakes any lawful instruction as directed by management.Complies with Company's policy and procedures.Culture and Benefit:In return, you will get great exposure within the industry and develop your career while working with a great team who are passionate about what they do.To Apply:Recruit NZ, part of People Inc specializes in recruitment for small to medium local NZ businesses and has been New Zealand's premier recruitment agency since 2008.
