With the global expertise gained from serving the environment for more than 150 years, we have an opportunity for an Industrial Electrical Technician who will be responsible for undertaking electrical and industrial activities to ensure the Treatment Plants and their processes are functioning and in optimal condition.

Ensure all such tasks are accurately recorded in the Veolia Asset Management System (VAMS).Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve electrical problems using various testing devices and analytical tools, including programming and calibration of PLCs, Variable Speed Drives, and other automated systems.Read and interpret electrical schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams; update electrical drawings as needed to maintain accurate documentation.Manage and organize electrical work with a high degree of autonomy, including scoping projects, obtaining appropriate authorizations, and working at heights, in confined spaces, and on elevated platforms as required.Oversee subcontractors and suppliers, providing inductions, issuing work plans, supervising when needed, and auditing their work to ensure compliance with NZ standards and company policies.Conduct inspections, monitor equipment performance, and provide detailed reports on plant status, work programs, and other required information to the Maintenance Coordinator. Document all findings and actions in VAMS.Operate workshop equipment, manage inventory, and organize supplies for maintenance work, ensuring all tools and materials meet NZ safety and quality standards.Participate in the On-Call duty operators' roster and promptly escalate issues to Team Leaders and Coordinators when necessary, logging all incidents and responses in VAMS.Maintain required trade qualifications, certifications, and competencies through ongoing training and professional development, staying current with NZ electrical codes and industry best practices.Contribute to and comply with Health and Safety, Quality Assurance, and Environmental Management Systems, including adherence to Veolia's policies, procedures, and the V-ANZ Behaviour Framework (CRIPT).Diligently use the Veolia Asset Management System (VAMS) to record all corrective and preventive maintenance tasks, work orders, equipment status updates, and other relevant information. Collaborate effectively with internal staff and undertake general duties as required for the effective provision of services to the client, always prioritizing safety and compliance with NZ standards. What you'll need to be successful Qualifications: Experience: Hands-on industrial Electrical experience.Exposure to the Wastewater and/or process industry and basic understanding of various treatment technologies and processes is preferable.Proven ability to establish and maintain working relationships with colleagues and contractors.Ability to fault find electrical equipmentProven problem-solving skills and proposed methodologies.Personal Attributes: Ability to assess and assimilate a wide range of information and consolidate a position or assessment effectively.Persistence and confidence in own judgment and capability.Ability to quickly adapt to changing circumstances, strong analytical skills and focus on quality of work.A self-starter with an ability to work with a high degree of autonomy.Results focused team player.High degree of personal integrity.Other relevant skills or information: Knowledge of water and wastewater operations, maintenance and project activities.Understanding of the criticality of operational requirements and resource consent compliance.Understanding of the commercial nature of the operations of Veolia.Ability to organise resources, establish priorities and meet deadlines through balancing commitments and priorities.Strong literacy, numeracy, computing, communication and interpersonal skills.
