We are seeking a technology teacher to join our team and step into the workshops at Albany Senior High School. Catering to Y11–13 akonga, our technology program emphasises innovative, hands-on projects that challenge students to think critically, solve real-world problems, and develop technical expertise.
Our technology department is thriving and remains a popular choice for akonga who are eager to take an active role in their learning through engaging, hands-on project-based experiences.
Experience teaching NCEA Level 1, 2, and 3 technology and/or BCITO courses within a workshop environment is an advantage. However, this role is also open to beginning teachers who are enthusiastic and prepared to start strong with support from the team. There is also flexibility for this to be a part-time position teaching 3 classes.
Our facilities feature well-equipped workshops for wood, metal, and welding, as well as digital fabrication tools, laser cutters, and 3D printers. You'll also benefit from the support of a dedicated workshop technician who assists with practical tasks, materials ordering, and class preparation.
To be considered for this role, your CV must demonstrate that you have trained or taught in a New Zealand secondary school.
The position starts in term 1, 2025.
