The Northland Regional Council is seeking expressions of interest from suitably experienced candidates, for two Independent Investment Advisors in a contractor capacity for up to a three-year period.
Committee meetings will be held quarterly with additional hours as required.We anticipate the commitment will not exceed 100 hours per annum.The purpose of this role is to provide investment advice to Council's Investment Committee.
The Committee is expected to identify opportunities that will maximise the value of the portfolio and returns.
As an independent member to the committee, you will bring an impartial perspective, experience and knowledge to challenge and add value to the governance of a public entity.
You will contribute to the effective work of the committee for council, debate constructively and provide advice and support to assist with forecasting and decision making.
It is intended that one of the Independent Investment Advisors will be appointed by Council to Chair the Investment Committee.Council expects applicants to have prior governance, risk management, financial reporting, internal control experience and a relevant tertiary qualification.
You will also have:Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Economics, or a related field, advanced degrees (e.g., MBA) and certifications (e.g., CFA) highly valued.Minimum of 10 years practise in professional investment advisory services, including investment fund managementExperience in property investment and redevelopmentExperience in commercial investmentsTreasury risk management experienceExperience with high-net-worth clients and diverse investment productsUnderstanding of the local government environment, associated legislation and council financial policiesKnowledge of financial regulations and compliance requirementsWell-developed networks within the professional investment communityExpressions of interest will be followed by interviews, led by a panel comprised of committee members in early February, before making a recommendation to council.Applications close 4 January 2025 and should be submitted via SEEK or to the following email: ****** .
