For over 30 years, Visionwest Home Healthcare has been providing quality Home Healthcare and Individualised Funding services for older adults and people living with disabilities.
With over 1,300 support workers spread throughout offices in Auckland, Hamilton, Tauranga, and Rotorua, we work throughout West Auckland, North Auckland and North Shore, Waikato, Bay of Plenty, and the Rotorua Lakes district / Taupo regions.
Mo te tunga | About the roleAt Visionwest Home Healthcare, our Independent Living Coaches (ILC) are part of a team that provides a range of in-home care options to enable older adults and people living with disabilities to stay in their own homes for longer.
Visionwest Home Healthcare's commitment is to create a care programme/plan with the client that provides individualised care and support to the highest standard, to meet our client's specific needs.
You will be part of a team working rostered shifts between 8.00 am to 4.00 pm (day shift) and 4.00 pm to 8.00 am (night shift), across a 7 days per week roster. The successful candidates must be willing to work weekends, school holidays, and public holidays.
We are seeking enthusiastic and proactive people to support our North Shore based client who needs support and care for her high medical challenges including epilepsy and intellectual disability. This is more than a job; you will be playing a very important role in our client's life to support her, make the most of her opportunities, and help her enjoy her life to the fullest.
To be successful in this role you will possess the following skills and competencies:First Aid Certificate (or be willing to obtain one ASAP)Build good relationships with the client's familyGreat communication skills (oral and written)Be able to build a good rapport with the clientAttention to detailTeamwork – works well in shared responsibilityRemains calm under pressurePhysically fitEmpathetic, Caring and compassionateAble to understand, and carry out support plansFull NZ Driver's licensePrevious experience is not necessary, but a sense of humour, enthusiasm, and willingness to see someone as a person beyond their disability is key.
Nou te rourou | What's in it for youThe successful candidates will receive full training, a comprehensive induction, and an orientation package. Funding support is available for a study pathway of Certificate in Health and Wellbeing (NZQA qualifications) for eligible staff.
**You must have the right to work in New Zealand, and you will be required to undergo police vetting and additional checks to be considered for this position.
