Competitive salary of up to $100,000, depending on experience Permanent, full-time position!Based in Wellington or AucklandCompetitive salary of up to $100,000, depending on experience!Mo te tunga | About the roleWe are seeking an innovative, energetic, and experienced Inclusive Communities Manager to lead our Family and Whanau Liaison team. As the Inclusive Communities Manager, you will play a pivotal role in leading, motivating and supporting a regionally based community liaison team. This team works with people with intellectual disabilities and their various support people. The aim is to ensure people with intellectual disabilities, their families and whanau get information and contacts within their respective communities, so they can make informed decisions, know what supports are available, and how to access them.The Inclusive Communities Manager has three key responsibilities:Leading, developing and measuring the outcomes of the team's work so comprehensive information resources are developed and maintained.Increasing awareness, knowledge, and skills about self-advocacy so people with intellectual disabilities, their families, and whanau are supported to speak up for what they believe is a good life for them.Advocating within mainstream services including local government, non-government services, and community networks for accessibility and inclusiveness of people with intellectual disabilities.A good understanding of intellectual disabilities and the disability support sector.Proven experience as a people leader who is a clear communicator, brings out the best in people, sets clear objectives and measures, builds rapport well and is a good listener.A proficient presenter and educator adept at designing and implementing tailored programs, activities, and events.Good judgment about which creative ideas and suggestions will work.Can effectively manage resources (people, funding, support, materials) to get the job done.Effective in a range of presentation settings, both internally and externally, can manage group process.Ability to collaborate with a wide range of stakeholders, build partnerships, develop networks to harness collective voice and influence.Gather and interpret relevant data and evidence to support advocacy strategies.Nou te rourou | What's in it for you?Enjoy a flexible working environment, including the opportunity to work from home one day a week, offering a healthy work-life balance.
