Position: In-Process OperatorReports To: Production Team Lead or Production Assistant ManagerLocation: AshburtonOur Ashburton based client is on the lookout for an In-Process Operator to be responsible for the tasks that make up the successful running of the Bagging, Canning and Blending plant within their modern factory.Those outside of New Zealand need not apply as you must already be eligible to work in New Zealand at point of application.Purpose of the PositionTo be responsible for the tasks that make up the successful running of the Bagging, Canning and Blending plant, from labelling, debagging, staging, depalletizing, palletizing, tipping raw ingredients and keeping the plant environment in top condition.To be a team member who strives to achieve the Canning and Blending objectives, including ensuring the plant is running at its optimum level to achieve the best possible production levels, following processes and procedures and seeing opportunities for improvement.Working RelationshipsInternals:- Team members at all levels within the company- Report to Production ManagerKey ResponsibilitiesProduct Management- Be responsible for the accurate checking of labels on raw ingredients and relabeling where required.- Be responsible for retaining the integrity of the raw ingredients during the tipping process and ensure that damaged ingredients and product are dealt with as per the Standard Operating Procedure.- Be responsible for the careful removal of outer bags from ingredients and placing onto the conveyor belt for processing.Plant and Machinery- Manage and evaluate equipment and resources to ensure productivity and minimal downtime.- Support the repair and routine maintenance of production equipment and site facilities.- Be responsible for the cleanliness of the plant.Compliance/Risk Management- Perform all tasks to a high standard to meet Standard Operating Procedures and Codes of Conduct.- Comply with all Quality Assurance/ISO Systems.Team Ethic & Relationship Management- Maintain sound and cooperative working relationships with stakeholders and any official authority and associates.- Proactively identify opportunities for sharing information and learning.- Actively support, assist, interact and communicate professionally with colleagues.- Support initiatives to improve service and performance of the Canning and Blending team.- Communicate effectively with colleagues to ensure the long-term goals and targets are met.Health and Safety- Comply with Occupational Health and Safety Legislation and regulations.- Observe all safe work policies, procedures, and instructions.- Take responsibility for personal health and safety and ensure no action or inaction harms others in the workplace.- Provide such information, training, and supervision as is necessary, to ensure that health and safety hazards are identified, understood and managed effectively.- Required to accurately report, notify and investigate all injuries and accidents.Other- Any other duties as reasonably required by the Production Team Leader or Production Assistant Manager.- Keep up to date with training courses, and adhere to Company Systems, policies and procedures and relevant legislation, regulations and codes of practice.Experience and Skills- Previous experience in a relevant industry.- Knowledge of Food Safety and Hygiene.- Physically fit.Attributes- Excellent communication skills and the ability to liaise with people at all levels.- Excellent time management skills and highly organised.- Attention to detail and the ability to maintain a high level of accuracy.- The ability to use judgement to determine when matters need to be escalated/referred to others.- Solution driven.Applications close 31 October 2024.Additional informationKnowledge of Food Safety and Hygiene.Previous experience in a relevant industry.Must already be eligible to work in New Zealand at point of application.
