Due to their continued growth and expansion, we are looking for an Import Operations Coordinator to collaborate with their dynamic team in Christchurch.About the Role:As an Import Operations Coordinator, you will be responsible for managing and coordinating our clients' import shipments, ensuring that airfreight, sea freight, and courier shipments are managed efficiently and meet client deadlines.
You will work closely with overseas agents, shipping lines, and suppliers to ensure all shipments are actioned promptly and accurately.Key Responsibilities:Primary liaison for all import shipments, ensuring clients receive regular and accurate updates on shipment status.Coordinate and arrange air / sea freight and import courier shipments, working with the relevant overseas agents and shipping lines.Prepare and send the weekly Order Status Report to clients.Collaborate with suppliers and overseas agents to ensure correct documentation for Customs and MPI clearance upon arrival in New Zealand.Data entry into CargoWise, including shipment costing and invoicing before passing clearance paperwork to the nominated customs broker.Obtain rates from overseas agents, shipping lines, and third-party organisations to prepare exact quotations for clients and agents in CargoWise.Maintain awareness of MPI and Customs requirements for specific commodities, ensuring compliance with regulations and proper handling of cargo within nominated agents.Skills and Experience:Strong knowledge of freight forwarding terminology and Incoterms.Proficiency in CargoWise and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).Knowledge of MPI and Customs regulations, including MPI Transitional Facility requirements.Ability to manage time effectively and maintain excellent organisational skills.Diligence with the ability to think creatively and use initiative.Able to work under pressure, as part of a team and independently.What We Offer:A dynamic and supportive work environment.Opportunities for professional growth and development.Be part of a leading NZ-owned company making a global impact.Don't miss out on this great opportunity!
