The core function of this role is to assess visa applications which can vary in complexity and may involve high volume decision making, dependent on the visa category.
You will be required to manage your workflow, assess information, investigate, interpret, and apply legislation to make sound and rational decisions.
You will liaise with internal and external stakeholders, assess risk, manage a high-volume caseload and work collaboratively across the network.
You will work across different internal systems, use multiple screens, navigate through detailed information, and provide written rationale for your decisions.
Daily responsibilities include:
Processing visa applications, by assessing information against current legislation and policies.Workflow and caseload management.Building relationships with internal and external stakeholders.Applying rational and analytical thinking to decisions when reviewing applications.Writing well-reasoned rationale to support your decisions.Interviewing telephonically or face to face (dependent on the visa category).Our Henderson Office is located off Lincoln Road, away from the hustle and bustle of the central city.
Our office will be moving 3.5 km from its current location in March 2025, towards central Henderson, close to transport hub.
Henderson office predominantly processes Visitor Visa applications that can vary in complexity and volume.

Work your hours!
Standard full time, Monday to Friday between 6am – 6pm (training period will be within the hours of 8.30am – 5pm)
Training is completed on site and will take approximately 3-4 months to become fully competent in the role.
During this time, you are required to be on site every day.
Once fully competent in your role you can discuss more flexible working options with your manager, such as working from home up to 2 days per week with flexible start and finish times.

Skills and Experience Required Exceptional written communication and correct use of grammar to convey rationale.Proficient computer literacy across multiple platforms and standard software packages.High volume caseload and workflow management.Ability to accept feedback and be resilient under pressure.Ability to learn quickly and apply new information as required.Be adaptable in a changing environment.Eye for detail and an ability to interpret information.A strong moral compass and be known to 'act with integrity' in all you undertake.To be eligible for this role, you will need to be a New Zealand citizen or hold a New Zealand Permanent Resident Visa.
