Job Description We are seeking an experienced Museum Professional to lead the Museum's Imaging and Permissions team.
This role is responsible for leading the Imaging and Permissions team including the planning, coordination and management of the Imaging lifecycle from creation to distribution. This position manages both internal and external stakeholder relationships with regards to image creation, copyright and cultural permissions and will provide expert advice in the Museum's management of rights; copyright, cultural permissions, moral rights and intellectual property. This role provides leadership, sets standards of service, allocates work and provides supervision for staff contributing to the imaging and rights management at Tamaki Paenga Hira.
Desired Skills and Experience To be successful in this role, you will have the following knowledge, skills, competencies and experience in the following areas:
Tertiary qualification relevant to the sector, or a high level of relevant experience in image supply and customer servicePeople leadership experience managing fast paced and high performing teamsDemonstrated experience in managing Copyright and other permissionsExperience in meeting needs of Maori in relation to enquiries about taongaKnowledge of museum collection management practice and collection care practiceKnowledge of photographic processes and digital file formats is highly desirableKnowledge of tikanga Maori, especially relating to collectionsYou must be eligible to work in New Zealand to be considered for this permanent position.
