Te ahua o Te Turunga – The nature of the position We are looking for a skilled IDIAnalyst to join our team of researchers and analysts and contribute to ouranalysis and research projects within Stats NZ Integrated Data Infrastructure.The role will suit someone who enjoys being proactive and taking initiativerather than awaiting instruction. The analyst team is the central hub bringingtogether all the data and research on our sectors, learners, and providers.
You will have the opportunity to contribute to research andanalysis to inform on how some of the big global and domestic trends likeclimate change, technological disruption and the future of work will impact oursector, and draw out insights for what this means for our sectors' workforcesand their vocational education needs. 
As the IDI Analyst in our researchand analysis team, you'll play a leading role in shaping and delivering ourwork programme. This will include:
Understanding our commitment to honouring TeTiriti o Waitangi and incorporating that throughout your work. Conduct research and analysis projects to build theevidence base for Muka Tangata's work. Collaborating as part of a team of skilledresearchers and analysts and supporting junior staff members. Collaborate across the organisation to effectivelycommunicate data, evidence, and insights. Providing technical/subject matter expertise,growing our capabilities to support our research and analysis. Nga tino Pukenga/Wheako – Essential skills/experiences for the role The IDI Analyst position providesan excellent opportunity to support research and analysis which will underpintangible improvements for communities and industries in Aotearoa.
Some of the skills and attributeswe are looking for are:
Collaborative team player with a can-do attitudeand sense of humour. Proven ability to undertake analytical workusing Stats NZ IDI. Strong analytical and research skills, with theability to mentor others. Excellent written and verbal communicationskills for both technical and non-technical audiences. Ability to build relationships with diversestakeholders. Proficiency in quantitative research methods,with qualitative methods as an advantage. Quick learner with the ability to grasp newconcepts. Professional, positive, and flexible approach toproblem solving. Skillsin storytelling, data visualization, and presenting an advantage. This position is a 12 month fixed-term contract and can be based in our Wellington or Aucklandoffices or remotely.
