This is a full-time position working Monday to Friday, 40 hours per week. As part of this team, there may be a requirement to participate in an on-call roster alongside other ICT Senior Systems Engineers to ensure seamless business operations.The key responsibilities of the role will include:Virtual Systems Management: Oversee and optimize our virtual environments across hybrid platforms.Release and Configuration Management: Play an active role in structured release cycles and maintain configuration standards.Monitoring and Capacity Management: Keep performance first-class with proactive monitoring and capacity planning.Deep Systems Knowledge: Build a comprehensive understanding of Tait's environment and systems to collaborate effectively with business teams and ensure solutions meet their needs.Technology Evaluation: Contribute to the selection and evaluation of cutting-edge solutions and technologies to enhance our infrastructure.Hands-on Infrastructure Expertise: Apply your extensive experience across security, networking, and operations to maintain robust systems, as well as mentoring others and sharing knowledge.O pukenga - About YouTo be successful in this role, you will have a relevant tertiary qualification preferably in Computer Science or a related field, as well as:Ability to work in a cross-functional environment across diverse Linux systems and a handful of Windows systems (spanning on-premises, managed data centres, and public cloud environments).Hands-on experience with networking technologies (e.g. Cisco, Aruba, Palo Alto), along with expertise in switching and routing.Solid understanding of security best practices and technologies.Advanced experience with virtualization platforms (KVM, LXC, VMware, Hyper-V) and public cloud architecture, particularly AWS.
