Hydro Excavation Operator Vac U Digga · Wellington

Details of the offer

Are you a Hydro excavation Operator and a bit of a character? You're here right now, reading this for a reason. Maybe you already know your way around hydro excavation and you're looking for your next move.
And we're after more characters like you to come and join us!
What's the job?
Vac U Digga is New Zealand's leading hydro excavation specialist. Hydro excavation is all we do; the level of expertise we've accrued doesn't happen overnight.
It's the result of 18 years of civil construction experience and ten years of Research and Development.
It's also worth mentioning that Vac U Digga is part of Intergroup which opens up all kinds of other options for future growth and development.
You'll benefit from:

Job security - we're an essential service and there will always be work for you.
A hands-on training programme with a wide range of courses.
A welcoming, helpful team - our characters are down to earth and all willing to muck in to give each other a hand; everyone feels like they belong here.
Heaps of development and opportunities for growth.
True health and safety - you'll never have to work in an unsafe environment or in a situation where you feel uncomfortable.

Are you the right fit?
We're after characters who are always wanting to learn and grow - your voice matters here, and you will be empowered to make decisions, not just take directions.
We're hoping you'll be enthusiastic and have a can-do attitude, along with good communication skills. We're all about trust and loyalty here.
Our team is built on a strong buddy system for most of our work, so you've got to like working as a team.
While a background in hydro excavation is ideal, it's certainly not essential. We're proud to offer comprehensive training - an initial 4 to 6-week block to set you up for success, with ongoing training after that.
And since driving our machines is a key part of the job, we'll also pay for you to gain your Class 2 licence if you don't have it already.
The technical stuff you'll need includes:

Previous hydro excavation experience is a plus.
Class 2 license.
Physically fit.

It's a physical job but one we're sure you'll enjoy. After all, you'll be working with an awesome crew who look out for each other and love a bit of banter.
Come join our great team today and show us your character!
