If you're practically minded, don't mind heights, and work hard, the team at Baygold can likely train you to be great at these roles!About the RoleThe Baygold construction team carries out a number of projects every year on properties owned by the Baygold group and others.
These projects range from greenfield developments of brand new orchards to repairs and maintenance of existing orchards.You'll be trained on all of the machinery and work you are expected to complete.Your key accountabilities will be:A number of orchard construction related activities involving poles, hail covers, wire work, internal structures, and pergolas;Ongoing maintenance of existing structures including repairs, lifting and dropping side cloths for pollination, and retrofitting improved structures to existing orchards;Other construction and construction labouring related work as required across kiwifruit orchards.Baygold's base known as 'The Station' is on the corner of SH2 & Maniatutu Rd, Pongakawa.
The Station is approx.
15 minutes drive from Papamoa or 12 minutes drive from Te Puke.
Worksites are often within 30-40 minutes of The Station; however, some worksites can be more than an hour away.Are you the one we are looking for?We don't expect you to have worked in orchard construction previously.
Any type of construction labouring is useful; however, at a minimum we require:Practical thinking: This role requires a good level of practical skills and a practical mind.
You'll have experience working with your hands and using your mind to ensure you get the job done right.
You'll have good spatial awareness and awareness of what is happening around you.Comfortable with heights: A lot of this role can be on hydraladas, working at heights.
You'll need to be comfortable with this and preferably have worked at heights before.
If you've worked on hydraladas in any capacity, even better!Comfortable working outside: With some exceptions, the team works in most weather conditions.
That can mean everything from rain to dust from developments and more.
You will have worked outside and be comfortable with everything that entails; hopefully, it's your preference!Values fit: The Baygold team are easy-going, hard-working, and there's no big egos.
You'll be good to work with and have a positive attitude.
