Job Summary:
The HVAC Technician/Installer is responsible for installing, repairing, and maintaining heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings. They must ensure that the systems are operating efficiently and safely, troubleshoot problems, repair or replace equipment as needed, and perform routine maintenance to prevent breakdowns.
Key Responsibilities:
Install, repair, and maintain heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems in residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
Troubleshoot and diagnose problems with HVAC equipment.
Repair or replace HVAC equipment as needed.
Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
Cleaning, adjusting and repairing systems, and performing warranty services.
Perform routine maintenance on HVAC systems to ensure they are running efficiently and prevent breakdowns.
Troubleshoot problems with HVAC equipment, such as faulty thermostats, clogged air filters, and malfunctioning compressors.
Perform routine maintenance on HVAC equipment, including cleaning coils, checking refrigerant levels, and replacing filters.
Keep accurate records of work performed and parts used.
Participate in on-call rotation for emergency repairs.
Attend training sessions to stay up-to-date on new HVAC technologies and techniques.
Communicate effectively with customers about their HVAC systems and make recommendations for repairs or upgrades.
Comply with service standards, work instructions, and customers' requirements.
Ensure compliance with appliance standards and with Occupational Health and Safety Act.
Follow safety procedures and regulations when working with HVAC equipment.
Requirements:
Level 4 qualification OR at least three years of relevant experience may substitute for the formal qualifications listed above.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Attention to detail and ability to follow safety procedures and regulations.
Good initiative and time management skills.
Willing to work on weekends as per the roster and after hours when required.
Heavy lifting and work in open atmosphere, roof etc.
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift heavy machinery and climb ladders.
Ability to work in cramped spaces and at heights.
Ability to work in various weather conditions.
Ability to stand, bend, and stoop for extended periods of time.
Working Conditions:
Work is typically performed indoors and outdoors in various settings, including residential, commercial, and industrial buildings.
May be exposed to various weather conditions, as well as dust, dirt, and other airborne particles.
May be required to work evenings, weekends, and holidays, and participate in on-call rotation for emergency repairs.
Pay: $25.00 – $32.00 per hour
