Position: HVAC Technician Location: Palmerston North Job Description We are seeking a highly skilled HVAC Technician with an excellent record of honesty and integrity to maintain the reputation of the company. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES General An active member of the overall McMillan & Lockwood Central Ltd team. Promote and maintain good relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, and external suppliers. Immediately disclose any issues that might compromise our performance on a contract. Ensure the security of all data and information and maintain company confidentiality. Health & Safety Ensuring compliance with the company's Health & Safety Policies & Procedures and legislation. Commitment to a health and safe working environment at all times. Facilitating a sound working relationship with Worksafe inspectors based on mutual respect. Hold a Site Safe Passport. Management and Financial Manage time and be able to meet contractual obligations. Provide records of Planned Preventative Maintenance works and inspections. Provide reports of faults found. Assist the Services QS with maintenance claims. KEY COMPETENCIES & SKILLS REQUIRED Five years of HVAC technician experience. Team member and communicator of all levels. Pro-active, accepts responsibility, and has the technical know-how. Installing and Removing Systems: HVAC technicians install new systems and remove old ones. Planned Preventative Maintenance: They perform planned preventative maintenance on existing HVAC systems. Diagnosing Faults: Technicians diagnose electrical and mechanical faults in HVAC systems. Reactive Maintenance: They quickly perform emergency repairs on specific equipment items. Client Communication: They communicate with clients and customers regarding time and access requirements for planned and reactive maintenance activities. Equipment Management: Making sure all requirements of warranties are met. Compliance with Local Codes: HVAC technicians ensure compliance with local HVAC codes. PERFORMANCE INDICATORS Maintenance requirements set out in the contract are all met. Level of Service requirements set out in the contract are met. Manufacturer and supplier warranties are maintained. Positive Client, Subcontractor, Supplier, and Consultant feedback of McMillan & Lockwood Central Ltd. The HVAC Technician requires: The ability to plan, organise, and carry out planned preventative maintenance for HVAC systems under our contractual control. The ability to respond to reactive maintenance for HVAC systems under our contractual control and to find and return the systems to normal operation or safely isolate and communicate with the client.
