Refrigeration Technician Immediate start available for Refrigeration/HVAC Technicians in the Wellington region for our client. You will be responsible for the installation, maintenance, troubleshooting, and repair of commercial and industrial refrigeration and HVAC systems in the Rail sector.

Technical Requirements to carry out the role: Hands on practical involvement in the day-to-day workshop production.
Take all reasonable steps to ensure that assigned tasks are free of faulty workmanship, assuring quality in the finished product.
Ensure repairs are carried out using the appropriate control guidelines to ensure that rework jobs do not occur. This involves checking sheets, quality control procedures and guidelines for reusable parts.
Use diagnostic tools to determine repair plan and test units accordingly.
Determine reusability of all disassembled parts. Dispose or quarantine mandatory replacement/damaged parts in accordance with company guidelines.
Prepare and clean components for maintenance work.
Ensure all assigned tasks are completed within required timeframes.
Ensure all paperwork is presented and signed back to the office in a clean and presentable standard.
Identify possible areas of wastage and work towards continuous improvement.
Perform quality assurance tasks as directed by the Production Manager.
Keep workshop clean, tidy and well organised.
Perform all other duties as assigned by management in a professional and efficient manner.
Skills Experience and Qualifications you will need: Min. 3 years of experience in the installation and maintenance of commercial or industrial refrigeration and HVAC systems.
Proven expertise in troubleshooting and repairing HVAC and refrigeration systems, including experience with leak detection and advanced diagnostics.
In-depth knowledge of refrigerant management protocols, system components, and electrical control systems.
Proficiency in using technical tools and digital diagnostic equipment.
Familiarity with environmental and safety compliance regulations, including ISO14001 and ISO45001 principles.
A current Refrigerant Handling Licence or willing to obtain.
Cutting, bending, and threading piping, and bolting, soldering, riveting, welding, and brazing pipes.
Ability to recognise and solve service/maintenance problems with a keen eye for detail.
Demonstrated skills as a refrigeration / air conditioning technician.
The experience to complete assigned tasks on time and to a high quality.
Desirable: Certificate III in Air Conditioning & Refrigeration (or near completion).
Computer literate is highly desirable.
Forklift license is highly desirable.
