About the role An exciting opportunity now exists for an Electrician or Electrical Fitter to join our highly collaborative and supportive team of go-getters. As the Electrician or Electrical Fitter, you will undertake tasks associated with electrical substation construction and maintenance. You will provide safe, reliable and cost-effective construction, erection, installation, repair, assembly, maintenance and modification of all types high voltage and low voltage electrical apparatus.
On a day to day basis, your responsibilities will include ( but not limited to)
· Installing HV and or LV substation equipment
· Plant repair and maintenance
· Primary plant testing
· Authority to work on equipment
· Work Site management and participation
· Equipment control and maintenance
Key Experiences & Skills · Certified electrician with NZ registration or eligible to gain NZ registration.
· Experience in the High Voltage Electrical industry would be an advantage, but not a prerequisite.
· Demonstrated interpersonal communication skills and the ability to work as a member of a team.
· An ability to work flexibly and adaptively in a complex environment with multiple stakeholders.
· Physical Abilities - Physically fit especially with regards to heavy lifting, stretching and climbing (free of back problems); Maintaining physical fitness to the level required by the position; Trained attached climber is an advantage; Not afraid of heights; No pace maker; Physically flexible; Manual dexterity.
· Driving Skills - Full driver's license and experience driving appropriate vehicles in all road, terrain and weather conditions
· Language Skills - Can correctly interpret written and spoken English information and translate it into the tasks at hand; Fluent verbal English skills; Good written English skills.
· Safety - Ability to identify and control Hazards and risks; Demonstrated high levels of understanding of and adherence to the Health and Safety practices and regulations of the Low Voltage and High Voltage Industry.
About you You have demonstrable experience in similar role or in a role with a large Utilities, Construction or Multi-faceted business. Highly motivated, you have excellent organisational and time management skills and take pride in your quest for continuous improvement! You have strong experience in a Health & Safety role and you thoroughly enjoy working with multiple stakeholders in a busy and fast-paced environment with high stakes.
