We are looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Health, Safety, Sustainability and Environment Graduate to join our growing team. In this role you will be working closely with the HSSE Officer influencing, driving, and promoting an enduring health and safety culture while driving continuous improvement in our Health, Safety, Sustainability and Environmental programmes. This is an exciting career pathway opportunity where you can build valuable skills.About the role:Build outstanding relationships and engagement with employees at all levels to maintain and progress a strong health, safety, and environmental culture.Carry out health and safety inductions and the Green Gorilla training and competency programme.Assist in setting HSSE targets and objectives.Assist with incident investigation and corrective actions.Assist with the Green Gorilla Transitional Facility programme.Assist with risk assessments, audits, and reviews.Maintenance of Health and Safety certification programme.Assist in environmental monitoring and maintaining consent conditions where applicable.Maintain and update data, records, and documentation.Provide advice and tools to assist the line managers with their safety and compliance responsibilities.Assist with development of Site-Specific Safety Plans.Assist in developing the Green Gorilla Emergency Management Programme.Our ideal candidate will be:A recent university graduate with a qualification in HSSE, in an Environmental field or related field.Understanding of the Health and Safety at Work Act (2015).Experience working with Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.Any experience in environmental monitoring, hazardous substances, and/or Damstra Safety would be an advantage.About you:A real people person with a natural talent for building trust and rapport.Proven understanding of health and safety legislation.Comfortable working in outdoor environments and in and around machinery and heavy transport.A confident and articulate communicator.Able to think quickly on your feet and make considered decisions under pressure.Highly focused, meticulous and process-driven.Strong administration and computer skills.Self-motivated.This is a fantastic opportunity to work for Green Gorilla – New Zealand's highly successful independent recycling and waste company that sets the trends of waste services in our country.
