We are united by our purpose to provide a better life for the communities in which we operate by delivering assets that provide lasting benefit.About The RoleDue to continuing strong growth, we have a great opportunity for a Health, Safety and Environmental Advisor to join our Wellington team.As a key member of our HSEQ team, you will be responsible for:Support the project team and workers to eliminate or minimize hazards.Educate site workers on hazard identification, by promoting the See Say Do process.Carry out and deliver project consultation processes including site inductions and pre-start/toolbox meetings.Recommend corrective/preventive actions to prevent hazards from escalating into incidents.Thoroughly investigate all incidents and recommend corrective/preventive actions.Support the Project Manager by identifying additional WHSE training.Circulate and disseminate WHSE information across the project.Assist the project team in building a strong safety culture.Assist with the preparation, development, and review of construction methodology and SWMS.Carry out formal weekly HSE inspections and daily 'work in-progress' inspections.Arrange audits/inspections of work areas and activities.Review on-site work practices, materials conditions, plant, and equipment to identify WHSE hazards.Support the Return to Work Coordinator by ensuring Return to Work Plans are in place.Review any permits to work issued and ensure compliance with legal, organizational, and WHSE requirements.About YouTo be successful in this role you will have:Minimum of 2 years' operational experience in a HSE Advisor role or similar.Working knowledge of WH&S Act, Regulations, Codes of Practice, New Zealand Standards and their application in the construction industry.Effective written and verbal communication skills on a technical level.Effective organisational skills with the ability to multi-task and prioritise key activities.A strong commitment to 'Home Without Harm.
