The Position As the New Zealand HR Partner, you will be essential in aligning HR strategy with Nexans' goals. This involves partnering closely with Operations, serving as the HR representative on the ground. You will collaborate with other key partners, to ensure comprehensive support for our overall business operations.
This includes driving HR policies and initiatives that support Nexans' objectives, while fostering strong partnerships across the organisation. You will provide expert guidance to management and employees, ensuring the HR function adds value to the New Zealand, and wider global business. Some of your key responsibilities will include:
Collaborating with the General Manager HR and broader HR team to develop and implement strategic HR initiatives
Enhancing workplace relationships to improve morale, productivity, and retention
Leading or supporting EBA negotiations, including liaison with union officials and preparation of required documentation
Keep up to date with employment legislation and provide timely advice to ensure compliance and mitigate potential risks
Analyse HR metrics and data to inform decision making and report on the effectiveness of HR programs and initiatives
Promote and contribute to a safe workplace by actively supporting the Nexans health and safety initiatives
Proactively identify opportunities for organisational change and support the business in navigating those changes effectively
Our Ideal HR Partner A true HR generalist with proven experience in a similar position
Skilled in leading and supporting organisational change, with the ability to influence and gain buy in
Strong communication skills, able to liaise professionally across all levels and channel
Experienced in EBA negotiations, including interpreting legislation, liaising with unions, and contributing to strategies
Strong knowledge of NZ employment law, ensuring compliance through timely consultation and implementation
Expertise in resolving ER, IR, and performance management issues, including managing disciplinary actions and offering practical, risk minimising solutions
Team player, adaptable to business needs, and able to contribute to broader HR goals
Acts with integrity and takes responsibility
Proactive in achieving objectives
Customer focused and a keen problem solver
