About the organisation
Te Runanga o Kirikiriroa is a kaupapa Maori organisation that prides itself on working to a family-centred, tikanga guided, wellbeing approach. With a team of 100+ professionals, they are committed to delivering mental health, youth, housing and other social services in Hamilton city and beyond. The overriding mission of everyone who works at this organisation is a desire to improve holistic wellbeing and development to all.
About the Role – Human Resource Manager
The Human Resource Manager is responsible for overseeing and managing all HR activities within the organisation. The HR Manager will work closely with senior management to support organisational growth and enhance employee engagement.

Key Responsibilities:
Strategic HR Management: Develop and execute HR strategies that align with organisational goals, provide strategic support to senior management, and assess HR performance metrics for improvements.
Recruitment and Onboarding: Oversee recruitment processes, from job postings to candidate selection, and manage onboarding programs to integrate new hires smoothly.
Employee Relations and Engagement: Handle employee relations issues, promote engagement initiatives, and provide guidance on HR matters to foster a positive workplace culture.
Performance Management and Training: Manage performance appraisal systems, support manager development, and collaborate with the Training Coordinator on staff training.
Compliance and Administration: Ensure compliance with NZ employment laws, develop HR policies, oversee compensation practices, maintain accurate employee records, and support organisational development initiatives.

We are seeking an HR Manager who:
Embraces a whanau-first, tikanga-based wellbeing approach.
Holds a relevant Bachelor's degree (postgraduate qualification is a plus) and has 5+ years of experience in a similar role.
Possesses strong knowledge of New Zealand employment laws and regulations.
Demonstrates excellent interpersonal, communication, and organisational skills, with a proven ability to handle sensitive information discreetly.
Provides evidence of full Covid-19 vaccination, holds a full driver's licence, and has proof of the right to work in New Zealand for at least one year.
