About the opportunity
Titled internally as People Manager, this is a key senior leadership role at Finegand and reports to the Site Manager. The People Manager leads a small team of direct reports covering training, payroll, international support, and people advisory. The position is part of a supportive nationwide network of Silver Fern Farm's People Managers, with key accountabilities being supporting and developing on-site leaders to be better every day, enhancing employee experience and performance through improved communication and connection; and delivering people engagement initiatives across the site. With a staff of 1200 in peak season, this is a people-orientated, multifaceted and operationally focused role, with additional core functions including:
Providing leadership, advice and vision to your team
Overseeing training and development programmes, recruitment, employee wellbeing, settlement support, and payroll activities
Supporting Managers with high level employment relations
Leading strategic and operational projects
Ensuring good practice legislative compliance, and HR reporting
Developing localised employee/community-based initiatives.
This is a role where you will enjoy daily interactions across the site and the wider team, and one where you will affect positive change through developing strong relationships with all stakeholders.

With strong coaching and mentoring abilities, you excel in fostering leadership growth and cultivating a culture of empowerment. Technical expertise and commercial acumen combined with leadership capabilities; and the ability to affect and drive positive change are attributes sought. A resourceful nature whose solutions-based, flexible, and down-to-earth approach will see you being a proactive member of the Finegand Senior Leadership team.
The role would be ideal for someone who enjoys being part of a community and its diversity. Previous experience within a fast-paced manufacturing environment is highly advantageous.
