Join Hawke's Bay Regional Council as an HR Coordinator, where you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality HR services across the organisation. This dynamic and varied position involves coordinating recruitment, onboarding, HR administration, compliance, employee engagement, and learning and development activities. As a key member of the HR team, you will help ensure seamless operations, build strong relationships, and foster a positive workplace culture.
In this dynamic role, you will:
Lead recruitment and onboarding processes, ensuring a smooth journey for new team members.
Manage comprehensive HR administration, including personnel files and systems.
Support employee engagement activities and internal communications.
Drive the offboarding process and analyse exit survey data.
Maintain crucial HR documentation and reporting systems.
Manage the HR team's inbox and provide first-line support to staff queries.
Coordinate learning and development initiatives across the organisation.
The HR Coordinator also supports team operations, playing a crucial role in delivering consistent, high-quality HR services across the organisation. You are an experienced and detail-oriented professional with a strong background in coordinating and supporting HR functions or similar. You have a tertiary qualification in HR or a closely related field, or you bring significant experience in a similar role. Your understanding of recruitment, onboarding, compliance, and HR administration allows you to handle the demands of a busy and dynamic team environment with confidence.
To be successful in this role you will have:
Exceptional attention to detail and high-quality standards.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills, especially in Word, Outlook, and Excel.
Strong organisational and time-management capabilities.
Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
Experience maintaining confidential information with utmost discretion.
A collaborative approach and strong customer service focus.
Problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
Knowledge of HRIS systems (advantage).
Understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi and commitment to incorporating Te Reo Maori in appropriate settings.

The salary range for this role is between $67,590 to $75,100 and will depend on the qualifications and experience of the successful candidate. This is a high-performing and motivated team of professionals that you will be joining, offering an opportunity to experience working within local government and supporting the recovery work from Cyclone Gabrielle.
