We are looking for an HR generalist who is solutions focused and can easily build great relationships with people at all levels.
You will play a pivotal role in supporting our team of 50 by ensuring a smooth day to day running of our office. You will report to the GM and provide various HR functions, including recruitment, onboarding, employment relations and support to the Finance Manager with payroll.
This role plays a huge part in our workplace culture and provides the opportunity to be involved in all aspects of the business.
This role is Monday to Friday – 32-40 hours per week (negotiable) The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills and the ability to provide a nurturing environment for our staff. We are looking for a well-rounded individual who is a flexible, self-motivated and team player with a high degree of initiative.
What you'll be doing: Providing a professional and end to end detailed service to the business in such a way that you're trusted for your opinion and guidanceManage and resolve employment issues - carry out and support disciplinary processes, employment relations, formal performance improvement, change and restructuring processes - we are seeking someone who is experienced in these areas and can independently manage these processes.Coaching & Mentoring leaders to navigate any ER issues and difficult conversationsSupporting the payroll function on a fortnightly basisDealing with confidential and sensitive information Strive to understand the business, its people and the way it operatesAbout You: You have had some previous HR (ideally 5+ years) and some payroll experience would be advantageousA solid understanding of NZ employment law and HR best practicesYou are organised and an excellent multi-taskerYou enjoy interacting with peopleAttention to detail and a high level of accuracy to produce quality correspondence and documents.Ability to work under pressure and handle interruptionsStrong communicatorYou have a high level of discretion and confidentialityYou can work well on your own A can-do attitude and willingness to pitch in where needed Who are we? P&P Engineering is a 100% NZ owned and operated engineering consultancy based in Taranaki. Our office is based in the middle of the CBD so you'll have access to cafes, restaurants, bars and we are less than a 5 min walk to the coastal walkway!
