About the role

We are seeking an experienced Housing Support Youth Worker to join our team at Whangarei Youth Space, a community-focused organisation dedicated to supporting young people in Northland. In this role, you will be responsible for providing crucial housing and homelessness services to vulnerable youth in the local area. The position is based in our Whangarei office.
What you'll be doing
Engaging with young people to assess their housing and support needs, and developing tailored plans to help them secure and maintain appropriate accommodation
Coordinating with local housing providers, social services and community organisations to connect young people with the resources and assistance they require
Monitoring the progress of young people and adjusting support plans as needed to promote long-term housing stability and wellbeing
Maintaining detailed case notes and reporting on outcomes to key stakeholders
What we're looking for
Experience working in youth housing, homelessness or community support services.
Strong understanding of the housing and support needs of young people, particularly those facing complex challenges
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build trust and engage effectively with vulnerable youth
Proven case management skills, including the ability to assess needs, develop support plans and coordinate services
Knowledge of local housing, welfare and community resources and how to navigate the
