About the role | Mo te turanga A Housing Navigator will work with up to 15 clients/whanau at a time, providing Housing Navigation services to whanau with children, individuals experiencing mental health challenges, and those at risk of housing instability. This includes recipients of Emergency Housing Special Needs Grants (EH SNG) residing in non-contracted motels.
This position will be for a fixed term till 30th June 2025 . Duties | Mahi You will provide and oversee connection to community-based support services that are culturally responsive leading to the maintenance of sustainable long-term housing, and positive wider social outcomes through whanau being connected to their community.
Manage a caseload of 15 clients/whanau at any one time Evaluate the decluttering and hoarding management process for clients' homesDevelop a tailored, integrated strengths-based plan in conjunction with each whanau/household. Support with daily tasks and interventions so that people may learn, or improve, their practical life skills (e.g. budgeting, paying bills, planning meals etc.) needed for their sustainment in independent housing.Providing information and advice on welfare rights, tenancy rights and responsibilities, and supporting people to develop self-advocacy and assertiveness skills in these areas.Skills & Experience | Pukenga & wheako Physically fit and able to perform repetitive tasksProven ability to manage a mixed caseload, preferably in a community-based setting with up to 15 clients/whanau at a time.Relevant experience in one of the following fields: social services, social housing, or mental health; with an ability to demonstrate practical transferable skillsResilience, with the ability to work in an environment of unpredictability, and remain practical and focussedKnowledge or understanding of motivational interviewing, harm reduction and or trauma informed careMUST HAVE OWN VEHICLE & NZ FULL DRIVER'S LICENSE!Closing Date | Ra katinga: 13/09/2024 Full job description on request
