Mt Cook Lakeside Retreat We seek an experienced Housekeeper to lead our dedicated team.
Must have housekeeping experience, a positive mindset, and be legally entitled to work in NZ.
English proficiency and a valid driver's license are required.
This is a permanent, physically demanding, fast-paced role.
The right candidate needs to be detail-oriented, reliable, efficient, honest, physically fit, organized, customer-focused, flexible, a team player, and committed to quality.
Basic on-site accommodation available.
Responsibilities: Lead a small housekeeping team to ensure a welcoming, safe, hygienic, luxury experience for guests.
Maintain a positive team culture.
Oversee daily housekeeping operations.
Develop a Culture of Service Excellence with the Management Team.
Train the team in health and safety procedures, hazard management, and emergency procedures (first aid certification provided).
Refine waste management strategies to minimize environmental impact.
Ensure the team understands and promotes Retreat experiences and local points of interest.
Be a positive role model, maintaining personal presentation that represents the Retreat's luxury status.
Ensure compliance with Retreat policies, procedures, and quality standards.
Maintain lodge facilities, cars, and equipment to luxury standards (includes supervisory and hands-on duties).
Keep and monitor maintenance checklists; arrange necessary maintenance and keep equipment in good order.
Ensure team uniforms and personal appearance are immaculate.
Collaborate with the office manager on team rosters and inventory orders for villas (non-kitchen items).
Qualifications, Experience and Skills Being proactive, flexible, and open to and prepared to lead new ways of operating.
Strong communication skills and a willingness to work well with team members.
Physical fitness.
Formal training or certification in housekeeping or hospitality management or equivalent experience.
Training may be offered to the right candidate.
Previous supervisory experience in a similar role.
We are a small team with members undertaking many different tasks day to day depending on the current situation, which could include duties such as gardening, planting, painting, weeding, or event set up.
Start Date: Mid-August 2024 Permanent Position: 35+ hours per week Renumeration: Based on skills and experience with a 3-month performance review.
