Heritage Christchurch is currently recruiting for an experienced hospitality professional to be our full-time Housekeeping Manager.
About the role:
We are looking for a self-motivated, enthusiastic Head of the Department, who will lead a small, busy team, working under pressure, and to strict timelines. This is a very hands-on role, and applicants must be physically fit, as you are required to work with and alongside the Housekeeping team.
The main attributes we are looking for are:
At least two years previous Housekeeping experience in a managerial or supervisory role
Sound knowledge of Hotel Standard Operating Procedures
Excellent communication skills - written and verbal
Proven ability to manage and motivate staff
A positive attitude and willingness to learn
A high level of professionalism
Experience carrying out Performance Appraisals
Experience with recruitment and training of staff
Diploma or Degree in Hospitality preferable
The role involves administrative duties, so sound computer skills are essential, and knowledge of Opera Cloud is advantageous.
The key responsibilities for this position include:
Ensuring the Housekeeping team is fully briefed
Checking allocations and rooms after Room Attendants have cleaned
Assisting Housekeeping team with cleaning of rooms
Recruiting and training staff
Carrying out Performance Appraisals
Stock control
Liaising with suppliers
Scheduling routine cleaning/maintenance of hotel's assets
Ensuring that the hotel's standards are upheld
You must have NZ residency or hold a valid NZ work permit to be considered for this role.
