House Officer Positions Timaru, South Canterbury

Details of the offer

If you love the great outdoors and want to kick start your career off in a place where it is all about living, learning, and building a sound portfolio of clinical experience that in many ways can exceed what your colleagues would experience in a larger centre, consider Timaru Hospital.

Timaru has very few Registrars competing for clinical experience, allowing direct one-to-one interactions with Consultants.

You will get to participate fully in the theatre cases assisting alongside the relevant Surgeon. The surgical runs also include several subspecialties (Pain, Ophthalmology, Dental and ENT).

The training environment supports a wide variety of specialties and there are weekly, protected teaching sessions and Hospital Grand Rounds, along with access to specific courses such as Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS).

Plus, you will have the support of a dedicated Senior Doctor. Other benefits include:

Ten days of sick leave per year 6 weeks annual leave from appointment Free meals while on duty over a meal break If eligible, a 6% matching employer superannuation contribution Please note that international applicants are required to have a minimum of 2 years of clinical experience working in New Zealand, Australia, the United Kingdom, or Ireland.

All applicants must be eligible for Provisional General Scope of Registration with the Medical Council of New Zealand. Self-check if you will be eligible at mcnz.org.nz/registration.
