House Lead - Selwyn Village

Selwyn Village, located in leafy Point Chevalier, is one of the founding retirement villages in New Zealand with a rich history and a deep feeling of comfort and home. As we grow and move with the times, we maintain our core values that have been with us since opening in 1954.About the role:Your days will involve guiding and empowering your self-led team to provide residents with the comforts and security of home that demonstrates resident-centred care. You will provide leadership, support, and coaching alongside the registered nurse team and will be the first point of contact if a team member is unable to work as rostered. With support and coaching from the senior and registered nurse team, you will manage your direct reports on a daily basis ensuring that staff and/or performance issues are attended to without delay. You will monitor attendance, unscheduled absences, and leave requests. Arranging and facilitating team meetings and assisting with resident & family meetings will also be part of your responsibilities. You will orientate all new caregivers to ensure they work as part of the team.This is a great time to join our progressive model of care - the Eden Philosophy that focuses on the residents first, whom have made this their home.About you:We are looking for real superstars to step into this role. You will be a Level 4 (or working towards) and have that special something that makes you a natural leader. You will be a whiz on the computer, have excellent time management, and it is preferred that you have experience in people management skills. We are looking for an innovative, resilient, and empathetic leader to take on this role and make it your own.To be successful in this role you will need to have:A minimum of 3 years Caregiving experienceEligibility to work in NZ permanentlyStrong interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationshipsEmpathy whilst having a firm but fair approachAttention to detail and accuracyStrong verbal and written communication skillsNatural leadership skills with a resilient natureLevel 3 or higher NZ Health and Wellbeing qualification is desirableWe would love to hear from you if you have the skills and experience listed above and the x factor that we are looking for.
