We are looking for a jack-of-all-trades to look after everything from changing a light bulb to water treatment testing, to managing our heating system.Responsibilities & Key DutiesAssisting the Chief Engineer with general maintenance of the Hotel as required.Preparation and painting, wallpapering and touch-ups, grouting, sealing, air-condition unit maintenance, minor carpet repairs, lamp replacement & resolving plumbing issues.Implementing the corrective and preventative maintenance plans.Prioritise the maintenance and repairs of equipment and tools throughout the hotel.Carry out inspections of hotel facilities to identify and resolve issues.Monitor expenses and control the budget for maintenance.Manage professional relationships with contractors and service providers.Ensure maintenance logs are updated to report on daily activities.Ensure health and safety policies and procedures are complied with.Minimum Qualifications and Skills Required:1 to 2 years hotel maintenance experience.
(Ideally in plumbing environment)Excellent knowledge of the English language as well as the ability to speak, read and write clearly.Must be able to listen, read, and/or write instructions.Computer literate with knowledge of a variety of computer software applications, including the Microsoft Office Suite.Wairakei Resort is a New Zealand institution.
