Role Overview: We are seeking a vibrant and charismatic Food and Beverage Supervisor with a strong hospitality background to join our dedicated team.
You will play a crucial role in assisting the Food and Beverage Manager in leading our Food and Beverage team and ensuring our operations exceed guest expectations.
You will assist in managing Haukai Bistro & Bar, hotel room service, and meetings and events, to maximise profitability and help with maintaining and creating new policies and procedures for the Food and Beverage department.
This role is hands-on, you will need to lead by example and ensure that you are present and visible on the floor during key times throughout the day.
Schedule Requirements: Flexibility to work on a roster, including breakfast, lunch (when open), and dinner shifts, weekends, public holidays, and sometimes split shifts.
Breakfast shifts will start as early as 04:45 and late shifts will be until the restaurant closing time, normally by 23:00, sometimes later, sometimes a bit earlier.
What We're Looking For: Experience: Minimum 12 months previous experience in a similar role – supervisory or team leader, preferably in a hotel operation Key Responsibilities:Deliver outstanding service and create memorable guest experiences.Train, onboard, and develop our F&B team, maintaining high service standards.Manage F&B operations in the absence of the F&B Manager.Oversee Meetings & Events groups (up to 200 delegates).Handle opening and closing procedures for the restaurant.Conduct stock takes and manage ordering processes.Prepare rosters and approve timesheetsEnsure continual improvement within the Food and Beverage department by suggesting ideas and initiativesRespond to guest feedbackHandle restaurant bookingsWork closely with the kitchen team to maintain service flow and resolve operational issuesEnsure Health and Safety of guest and team and form part of the Health and Safety Committee Skills:Passion for excellent service and excellent interpersonal skillsAbility to think creatively, handle pressure and be able to multi-task.Experience with managing guest requests and resolving complaints.Proficiency in a range of dining service styles, including buffet and à la carte.Experience in running and managing meetings and eventsFamiliarity with Micros POS or similar systems.Experience and confidence in managing team performance and developmentKnowledge of food safety regulations and industry standards Additional Qualities:High barista skills and extensive knowledge of wines, spirits, and cocktails will be beneficialProfessional appearance and grooming.Friendly, energetic demeanor with a strong work ethic.Strong communication skills with excellent command of both verbal and written EnglishA team player, ability to work in a fast-paced environment and be able to prioritise workloadsFitness – you will be on your feet most of the day, including bending, and kneeling.
