An exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced Business Development Manager to join our team and take us to the next level of business excellence. This will be a Full-Time, salaried position (40 hours per week), based in New Plymouth.Novotel New Plymouth Taranaki opened in December 2015. The exceptionally designed hotel creates a sensational impression at the entrance to the New Plymouth CBD. Novotel New Plymouth Taranaki has 85 rooms, an a la carte restaurant and bar, meeting, and events facilities for up to 250 guests/delegates and an on-site fitness centre.We require someone who is self-motivated, has an outgoing personality, and has the ability to secure corporate business for the hotel by building trusting relationships with both clients and the local community. You must be passionate about sales and driving new and incremental business from the segments of Corporate, Government, Travel Management Companies, and Meetings & Events. If you have experience in business development within hotels and a proven result-driven background, with excellent communication and negotiation skills, this could be an ideal opportunity for you.Reporting to the General Manager you will drive business growth across the corporate market segments for Novotel New Plymouth Taranaki. You will have outstanding networking and negotiation skills, and you need to be able to lead the sales of the hotel in a manner that maximises results. You will thrive on exceeding sales targets and knowing competitor activities as these will be key in achieving your goals. Our ideal candidate will have 2 – 3 years of previous experience in a similar role, within the hotel environment.Requirements:Minimum 2 years previous experience in hotel sales with sound sales skillExcellent personal presentation with highly developed communication skills with internal and external clientsA passion and drive to win business with a 'can-do' attitudeComprehensive experience in the hotel and tourism environment and the ability to convert inquiries into salesExercise a high level of organisational, administrative, and time management skills as well as being strategically mindedDemonstrated passion and ability in exceeding sales targets and KPIsUnderstanding of the importance of reporting and accurate record keepingAbility to work under pressure and meet deadlinesKey responsibilities:Actively identifying and capturing revenue opportunities within the Corporate and Business Events marketProfessional representation of the hotel, including product training, presenting, and attendance at network events (sometimes outside of normal office hours).Business development in driving hotel sales objectives within corporate, M.I.C.E, and group segments, you must be hungry for leads and confident to chase business.Driving business growth through the management of existing accounts and expanding portfolios.Complete quarter reviews with contracted relationships identifying performance, feedback, and opportunities.Onsite management of accounts ensuring consistent unparalleled service, meet and greet VIPs, VIP service etc.Preparing and maintaining key account management plans.Account Manage and drive incremental business through a portfolio of corporate, government, and Travel Management Company accountsConducting regular site inspections with existing and prospective clientsDevelopment and maintenance of long-lasting relationships with our internal and external stakeholdersProspect for new business, via telemarketing and face-to-face meetings as required, conduct site inspections, and undertake sales, public relations, and marketing dutiesContributing to monthly and quarterly reportingQuick to adapt to new systems or previous experience with CRM Salesforce, C-vent and/or Lanyon would be an advantage.Experience using Opera Cloud and Revenue Management principles will be beneficial.Your success is our success.
