This permanent, full-time role involves managing a comprehensive range of accounting functions for our hotel located in Te Anau, New Zealand. Key responsibilities include:Financial Reporting: Prepare accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure compliance with accounting standards and hotel policies. Present financial reports to hotel management and stakeholders.Financial Management: Overseeing the financial operations of the hotel, including accounting, budgeting, forecasting, cash flow and financial reporting.Cross-Departmental Collaboration: Foster collaboration between the finance department and other departments like Food & Beverage, Front Office, and Housekeeping to ensure financial efficiency.Tax Compliance: Prepare and submit tax returns, including PAYE and GST (NZ), ensuring compliance with local tax regulations.Cost Control and Profit Maximization: Monitor departmental spending, inventory, and financial discrepancies.Risk Management: Identify potential financial risks and develop strategies to mitigate them. Ensure the safeguarding of hotel assets through effective financial controls and procedures.External Liaison: Coordinate with internal and external audits and ensure any audit recommendations are implemented.Management Support: Contribute to the preparation of management accounts and financial reports for internal decision-making, supporting operations.Preferred Requirements:· Experience: Minimum of 3 years of relevant accounting experience, demonstrating a solid understanding of accounting principles and practices.· Professional Qualification: Completion or working toward a professional qualification such as CPA, CMA, or ACCA.· Education: Bachelor's degree in accounting, Finance, or a related field.· Technical Skills: Proficiency in accounting software and Microsoft Office (especially Excel).· Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in financial reporting, payroll processing, and data entry.· Communication: Excellent communication skills, with the ability to clearly present financial information, preferably proficient in both English and Mandarin.· Work Environment: Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and adapt to changing priorities.Eligibility: To be considered for this role, you must currently be in New Zealand and be either a New Zealand resident, citizen, or have the unrestricted legal right to work in New Zealand.
