Shifts - Candidates must be able to work all shifts (Morning, Afternoon, and Nights) between Monday - Sunday. Mo te tunga - About the Role Our Older Persons Health Specialist Service provides geriatric services for older people in Canterbury. Burwood Hospital is the major centre for specialist Older Persons Health services. These services are Assessment Treatment & Rehabilitation. There are five assessment treatment and rehabilitation wards. Ward D1 - specialises in those patients with orthopaedic injury or post orthopaedic surgery. A Hospital Aide is an integral part of our team of health professionals. We are looking for a Hospital Aide who has excellent communication skills, and the ability to use their initiative. You will enjoy being busy and don't mind that the role can be at times physically demanding. You will be hard-working and enjoy working in a well-established team. Bring your positive attitude, caring and compassionate nature, and sense of humour to help us support our patients. Responsibilities: Assisting nursing staff with patient cares Keeping the ward tidy and organised Ordering and restocking of supplies Flexibility is required as you will work as part of a roster covering 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Qualifications: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and the ability to engage well Effective problem solving and decision making skills Ability to work efficiently and effectively in a multidisciplinary team Initiative and a proactive approach to work Strong computer skills and administration experience would be an advantage Ideally experience as a Hospital Aide or similar When you work at Te Whatu Ora, you are part of a wider whanau that will support you along your journey.
