Details of the offer

Minimum 30 hours per week guaranteed. 
Responsible for delivering nursing care which is supervised by a Registered Nurse. This care is delivered in the structural framework of the hospital's philosophy, mission, beliefs and procedures.
 
Person Specification

Good health
Willingness to work within the Philosophy, Values and Mission of hospital
Commitment to the principles of Treaty of Waitangi
Ability to work under direction of nurse in charge
Able to organize and set priorities to deliver nursing care
Ability to communicate effectively at all levels
High standard of work ethics and confidentiality

 
Responsibilities

Ensures patients' safety at all times.
Observes and reports changes in patients' conditions to Registered Nurse in  charge.
Delivers nursing care in accordance with patients' Care plans.
To practise good stewardship of all hospital's resources.
To understand Health and Safety workplace practices

 
Key Tasks

Participate in promoting and implementing the philosophy, mission and values of the hospital.
Provides nursing care that relates to activities of daily living to patients.
Adheres to policies and procedures throughout the hospital.
Participates in the process of continuous quality improvement for the hospital.
Demonstrates and ability to work as a member of the health care team.
To understand and implement specific health and safety processes within own area of work.

 

Assisting patients with their personal care needs such as showering, dressing and eating
Assisting patients with their mobility and communication needs
Participating in planning the care of individuals
Following therapy plans such as interventions to assist those with dementia and behavioural problems
Observing and reporting changes in patients' condition, and reporting complaints about care
Assisting with rehabilitation exercises, basic treatment and delivering medications
Providing direct support and assistance to therapists
