As a Horticultural trainee you will undertake a one-year training programme which will be a great start for your career in Horticulture. This is an awesome way to learn on the job and gain a qualification.
The horticulture trainee position is designed to support senior Horticultural staff within our Parks unit, whilst supporting you to gain essential skills and practical experience in amenity horticulture. With your hard work and dedication, you will finish with your national certificate in Horticulture (Level 2), ready for the next step in your career.
About the role
Maintain plant collections (you will learn from our senior staff and implement your new skills)
Support the maintenance of our parks and gardens
Commitment to studying the horticultural industry to gain your level 2 qualification
Practice health and safety at work as outlined by CCC staff
Requirements of the role
Interest in horticulture
Current drivers licence
X2 previous work references
You will be required to gain a police certificate and a physical medical examination

Hours of work - 1 x Fixed Term (1 year)
Location - This position is primarily based at the Botanic Gardens
Salary - This role will be paid at living wage - $27.80/hr
