We are on the lookout for an experienced horizontal/directional driller to join our client's team. The successful candidate will have previous experience operating drilling equipment such as Vermeer HDD and Ditch Witches.
ABOUT THE ROLE:
Directional Drilling Operations:
Operate Vermeer HDD and Ditch Witch equipment to perform horizontal/directional drilling tasks. Complete various drilling projects, including the installation of underground utilities such as water lines, sewer pipes, and fiber optic cables. Navigate and monitor the drilling path to ensure accurate alignment and depth according to project specifications.
Site Preparation and Setup:
Conduct pre-job site assessments to determine equipment setup and operational requirements. Prepare and set up drilling equipment, adjusting drill rods and calibrating drill heads. Ensure the drilling site is properly marked and prepared to meet safety regulations and project needs.
Drilling and Monitoring:
Operate and control drilling machinery to achieve desired boreholes and pipe installations. Monitor drilling parameters and make adjustments to optimize performance and address any issues that arise during the drilling process. Perform steering and guidance tasks to maintain the desired bore path and avoid obstacles.
Daily Inspections:
Conduct daily pre-operation checks and inspections of the telehandler to ensure it is in safe working condition. Report any defects or issues immediately.
Compliance:
Adhere to all safety regulations and protocols to maintain a safe work environment. Use personal protective equipment (PPE) as required and follow company safety policies.
WHAT WE'RE LOOKING FOR:
Must have Full driver's licence + WTR endorsement
Must be able to provide 2 work references
Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug & alcohol test
