Herd Manager – "Teamwork makes the dream work" Job Description Our farm is set on 230 Ha of flat land near Rolleston and only 30 mins from Christchurch. We milk our 1000 beautiful cows through a modern 60-bail rotary. We are now seeking to find a great herd manager to slot into our existing friendly team of 3 girls and 3 boys. We all get along well so it's imperative to us that we find a person who is going to become one of us. Skill set is equally as important though so we will need you to have a minimum of 2 to 3 years NZ experience under your belt as you will be required to milk cows, drive a tractor, feed out, be able to detect and treat lame cows, mastitis. As we always say here there is no "I" in our team and being a good team player, have great communication skills, being passionate about building your career, a strong team player and being reliable are essential attributes. You must be able to ride 2- and 4-wheel motorbikes as well. We make sure everyone has a good work life balance. We will pay a good salary of around $30 per hour including $50 per week for a modern 2-bedroom cottage. We guarantee a minimum of 30 hours per week.
