Job Description We have a job available for herd manager who must either have 12+ months' dairy farm experience or hold a Bachelor's degree in Agriculture or a related field. This is for a 1000 cow farm in the Ranfurly area, 2 hours and 40 minutes to Queenstown and 2 hours and 20 minutes to Dunedin, milking through a 50 Bail Rotary shed.You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including:- Milking and monitoring milk quality,- stock handling and feeding (feed mgt),- fencing, weed control,- calving, calf rearing,- shed maintenance & preparation,- tractor operation for feeding out, baling, mowing and silage- monitoring, recording and maintaining animal health- and other general farm duties.Weekly hours are a minimum of 30 and a maximum of 50. Since farm work is dependent on a number of unknown factors like weather and animals, should you work beyond the agreed maximum hours in a fortnightly pay period, you will be paid the agreed overtime hourly rate of $29.66 for any hours beyond the maximum hours.The schedule may vary; Roster will be 11 days on, 3 days off rest of the year.Salary is up to $77,116 per annum subject to experience.To be considered you must:- provide a CV which is current, correct and complete or alternative evidence of work (this is proof of work and professionalism and the employer will not consider you without this)- be a solid worker and with good character (where possible, we will do a criminal check)- be physically fit- be able to pass a pre-employment drug test- have a full driver licenceFair warning - if you're not willing to get up early, work hard, work & communicate well with others, you won't want this job (or last in it).
