Job DescriptionWe have a job available for an experienced farm worker (at least 12+ months) for a Herd Manager role on a 330 cow farm in the Manutahi area, milking through a 40 Bail Rotary shed.You'll have a range of duties to keep you busy, interested and developing including:Milking and monitoring milk qualityStock handling and feeding (feed management)Fencing and weed controlCalving and calf rearingShed maintenance & preparationTractor operation for feeding out, baling, mowing, and silageMonitoring, recording, and maintaining animal healthOther general farm dutiesWeekly hours are a minimum of 30 and a maximum of 55. Since farm work is dependent on a number of unknown factors like weather and animals, should you work beyond the agreed maximum hours in a fortnightly pay period, you will be paid the agreed overtime hourly rate of $29.66 for any hours beyond the maximum hours.The schedule may vary but generally work hours are between 5am and go through 5:30pm with meal and rest breaks; Roster will be 11 days on, 3 days off for the rest of the year.Wage is up to $29.66 per hour subject to experience.Minimum Requirements:Candidates will ideally have previous dairy farming experience and are required to provide good related references.
