The Research & Development group works closely with other departments throughout LIC to bring ideas to life.Your Role:Reporting to the Herd Improvement Technical Manager, your primary focus is on improving the understanding and application of herd improvement principles. This will be achieved through generating herd improvement extension material, and presenting and providing support to staff, farmers and the wider dairy industry on animal evaluation and herd improvement.Your key focus includes:Being responsible for generation of herd improvement extension material for the sales capability team to help build and coach the learning and development framework for herd improvement.Continue to develop your verbal and written communication skills, to support extension activities that aid our customer's on-farm decision making to drive herd improvement, and across the industry in relation to animal evaluation and herd improvement.Participate in a collaborative working environment within and across LIC teams.Applicants will display the following attributes:A relevant tertiary qualification.At least 2-3 years of work and dairy industry experience.Deep knowledge of herd improvement principles and dairy farming.Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).Well-developed computer skills with the ability to analyse and handle data to generate insights.Ability to relate effectively and professionally to all levels of the dairy industry, dairy farmers, and their advisors.Able to work effectively as part of a team, involving staff of all levels with a wide range of skills.To be successful at LIC means you'll thrive in a fast-paced, busy environment and you'll be adaptable to change.
