We are looking for heavy machine operators to join our fast-growing team based in Whanganui. Meanwhile, you may need to travel/relocate between Whanganui and Canterbury as we have ongoing projects in both regions. You may also required to travel to other regions in New Zealand from time to time on a short-term basis, depending on our project locations. As a heavy machine operator, your accountabilities include but are not limited to: Operating a range of heavy earthmoving plans and specialist equipment to excavate, move, drill, load, compact, crush, spread earth, rocks and other material. Set up plant and equipment as required. Carry out plant maintenance used in day-to-day work Ensure plant and equipment are fit for purpose and used in a safe manner. Anchor testing Site, yard and workshop housekeeping Installation of ground anchors, rock bolts, ground support mesh, rockfall barriers, accessories Rope access rigging and rock scaling if required Ensuring all health and safety protocols are met, taking reasonable steps to care for yourself and others To be suitably qualified for this role, you need to demonstrate: At least three-year work experience in a similar environment Ability to work as a team and meet compliance with all health & safety regulations Multi-tasking and efficient work to meet our project needs Excellent communication skills to ensure smooth liaising with our personnel onsite Flexibility to relocate as necessary based on project needs, as well as to work throughout weekends and during public holidays if required New Zealand citizenship/residence, or the right visa for you to legally work for us For the right candidates, we offer competitive hourly rate from $36.35 to $38.35, and a guaranteed working hours of 45 hours per week (up to 55 hours).
