If you have strong technical expertise, organisational skills, and a commitment to excellence, we want to hear from you!About the RoleAs the Heavy Diesel Workshop Supervisor, you will oversee the day-to-day operations of our small Heavy Diesel Workshop team. Your role is pivotal in creating a productive and safe working environment while ensuring maintenance and repair activities meet customer requirements and industry standards. You'll combine technical proficiency with strong leadership to manage the team, resources, and workflow effectively.Key ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and repair heavy diesel engines and equipment, including trucks, plant, and construction machinery, using specialized tools and diagnostic software.Maintain accurate records of maintenance and repair activities, ensuring efficient tracking of equipment performance.Lead and supervise a team of mechanics, providing guidance, training, and support to ensure high-quality workmanship.Promote a culture of safety by enforcing protocols, conducting regular safety meetings, and ensuring adherence to safety guidelines.Schedule and prioritise maintenance and repair tasks in collaboration with other departments, customers, and external service providers.Perform quality checks and inspections to ensure all work meets industry standards and manufacturer specifications.Assist in managing the workshop budget, monitor expenses, and implement cost-saving measures.What We're Looking ForProven experience as a Heavy Diesel Mechanic with a strong track record in diagnostics, repairs, and maintenance.Leadership experience with the ability to manage, mentor, and motivate a team.Excellent organisational and time-management skills.Strong commitment to safety, quality, and customer satisfaction.Proficiency in using diagnostic software and technical tools.Knowledge of budgeting, cost control, and resource management.Exceptional communication skills to liaise with staff, customers, and suppliers.Opportunities for career growth and professional development.A supportive and collaborative work environment.The chance to work with industry-leading equipment and tools.A role that makes a meaningful impact on operational excellence.You must have New Zealand working rights.Pre employment Drug & Alcohol testing is required.
